Post up your ideas on how we can do something to promote this sport that we all love so much.

Here is one idea.

Host a local "Try a Hyrdrofoil Day"
]Get anyone with a boat and a ski that is willing to give lessons on a list. Contact the local boat dealers and wakeboard clubs and see if you can have flyers at the shops. Have everyone meet at a local public boat ramp and take people out for an hour or two depending on how many people are showing up. Have waivers for people to sign and life jackets for people to rent or use for free.

The worst thing that can happen is no one shows up but then that just means more time on the water for you anyway.

Lets hear some more ideas!

One thing you can do, is register a club with USA water ski and then host demo days.  I think it's like 10 bucks or something for someone to ride during the demo days, but insures you.  I am in for waivers, always one of my fears, that is why I made a cheap manual release as well, so if it looks close it gets pulled.  I would encourage you to have waivers.

I really like the idea of a "learn to fly day". Murphy use to do this all the time and sold a couple of foils each time and also met his current wife. I have been thinking of bringing the learn to fly days back because it really promotes and helps grows the sport.

Not really like a fly-in. I'm thinking more along the lines of public get to try a hydrofoil day.  Fly-ins are cliquey and everyone goes out and rides. This is more for those who want to try out hydrofoiling. Regular riders like us share our ski or a beginner ski of sorts to people wanting to try it out.  It is definitely going to be city based so organization will need to be done centrally to hit it off good.

Lets pick a day and have it in as many cities as possible on the same day.  That way we can make in bulk, flyers for boat dealers, web ads, etc..

Who wants to help organize one for their city?  Add it to the list

You know I am in for helping out around here Brent.  Will have to do it next year though unless it happens in the next 6 weeks before the water starts cooling off some.......and we get the lakes back   Wink

Hey guys, willing to do it for my part of the woods, here in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. By the way, chalk up the gainer now in my little arsenal of inverts. That makes 3 different inverts for me. Getting more consistent, did 4 air rolls and 2 wake rolls in a row before falling last Saturday.
